Project Overview The Qurbani (Kurban) Project is an annual humanitarian and Islamic charitable initiative of Zunairah Islamic Charity Organization Uganda (ZICO Uganda) carried out during Eid al-Adha. The project enables generous donors to fulfill their religious obligation of Qurbani while providing fresh, nutritious meat to poor and vulnerable Muslim families who rarely have the opportunity to enjoy meat. Following the teachings of the Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), ZICO Uganda organizes the purchase, slaughter, processing, and fair distribution of healthy livestock in accordance with Islamic (Halal) principles. The project reaches orphans, widows, persons with disabilities, elderly people, refugees, low-income households, Islamic schools, and underserved communities across Uganda. Beyond distributing meat, the project promotes compassion, unity, generosity, and the spirit of sharing during the blessed days of Dhul-Hijjah, ensuring that disadvantaged families celebrate Eid with dignity and joy. Project Goal To facilitate the proper performance of Qurbani according to Islamic teachings while improving food security and bringing the blessings of Eid al-Adha to vulnerable Muslim communities. Project Objectives Enable Muslims to fulfill their Qurbani (Udhiyah) obligation. Provide quality Halal meat to poor and vulnerable families. Support orphans, widows, and persons with disabilities during Eid. Ensure all slaughtering is conducted according to Islamic Shariah. Promote unity, compassion, and community solidarity. Improve nutrition among vulnerable households. Build trust between donors and beneficiaries through transparent distribution. Project Components 1.
